Artist & Milliner
Debbie Annette Smith
I followed in both my Grandfathers and Grandmothers footsteps. As a child my Grandfather, a graphic artist, taught me how to draw, and my Grandmother, a Milliner, taught me how to sew!
I went straight from school to Art College, firstly a 2 year foundation at Epsom School of Art, then a 3 year HND at Croydon College of Art and Design.
I have exhibited at various locations in the UK and abroad.
I taught Art in Adult Education for 10 years, where I enjoyed passing on my knowledge and watching my students progress.
I work in a variety of art medium, and across many subjects.
Hat designing and making began a few years ago following my attendance at several Millinery courses. I love creating bespoke hats and fascinators to suit my clients, their personality, their outfit, and the event they are attending.
I am internationally known in the world of clowning for Clown Portraits. Since 2009 I have been the Artist responsible for creating the Portraits of Clowns on Eggs for Clowns International, these act as a register of Clowns Make up and Character.
They are exhibited in the Clown Museum. (see video below)
I am available for commissions of Portraits / Pet Portraits / Local Scenery
/ Illustrations / Digital Design work and Millinery requirements.
Prices will vary depending on customer requirements.
